Russ was pleasant and quick, however, the problem of the garage randomly opening was not corrected. Started randomly opening 10 minutes after he left.

Used Precision once before, a short while ago. A different problem this time. The gal on the phone was very efficient and I was able to reach her at 7:30am. The technician was here by 11:30, as promised. The work is done and everything is working properly. My one complaint would be the price. He was here for 50 minutes and replaced the springs, 2 cables and end bearings. I have no idea how much the actual cost of these items were but with the 10% senior discount I paid $445. This seems very high to me.

However, I do want you to know that we only use high quality parts and your springs are green, powder coated springs. These springs will last 3 times longer than standard springs and they are maintenance free. We do pride ourselves on customer satisfaction. We use the highest quality parts because personally, my motto is "we like our customers but we don't want you to have to see us again for a very long time". when the service man got here he said it would be $260.00

We didn't call around to see if that was a going rate like we normally do. After I made the appt. then I found out we could have had it done for $100.00 from another CO.
If we have any more trouble we won't be calling you.
Your service man wanted to put alot of new parts on that we really didn't need. I knew that would happen!!!

John - we appreciate your business. We try to stay competitive on price even though our costs continue to rise. Ultimately I want to provide excellent service and make sure our customers are comfortable with the quality of workers in their home.
The springs that were installed on your door are powder coated springs with a life cycle of 30,000 cycles. These springs are a maintenance free spring and will last you 3 times longer than the standard springs.
I get very concerned when our customers provide negative feedback and always research the situation. I did go back and review the phone call when you were quoted and Penny did quote you between $179 - $259 for the set of springs. In this conversation - you also informed Penny that the springs had been in place since 1964. I did also review the correspondence with the technician who was there. His diagnosis revealed that he failed the trolley, the springs, rollers, cables, center bearing and end plates on your garage door. His recommendation was that you have an overhaul performed on your door at that time.
It is the policy of Precision Door that our technicians perform a 25 point safety inspection on all doors serviced. It is our responsibility to inform our customers of any safety related issues concerning the door.

Otherwise everything went as expected.

James came to our house on Saturday,August 20,2011 to assess problem with the garage door.Based on his assessment he stated that I need new door system as well as the door opener.He provided an estimate of total cost to complete the job.Garage door installation is scheduled for Tuesday,August 23,2011.A 30% deposit has been paid to start the job on Tuesday.I am giving you 3 stars to start with but will provide additional rating based on completion of job.

Service was fine- Lou was polite & professional, and fixed the door. The problem was the first time service was scheduled for 5:00pm. I left work early to make sure I was home in time. I got a call at 6:45pm saying he was on his way. Too late- I had to reschedule. Rescheduled for between 9-12. Tech showed up at 12:45.

I would be much happier, and more likely to recommend your company if you could set an appointment time and keep it. I understand things get backed up, but your scheduling should account for that.

A few minutes late is understandable- provided you let the customer know. However, if you proide a 3 hour window, and still come 45 minutes AFTER that window, that's not fair to the customer. It's ridiculous to keep people waiting that long.
