Precision Garage Door has always been dedicated to bringing you REAL, fair and honest reviews. We receive reviews from our customers through many different mediums. To make our reviews more transparent, we have decided to reveal how exactly these reviews get here.

Types of Reviews


This review was a "Report Card Submission". We ask our customers to fill out a "report card", like the one pictured below, at the completion of every job. The star rating is an average of how the technician performed in knowledge, promptness, courtesy, ability to finish the job quickly and in one visit, clean up of the job site and overall quality of the finished work. To add transparency to our business we make these public on our website.


At the completion of every job we ask our customers to review our business on our website. Their comments are reviewed manually for inappropriate language and then posted to the website unedited.

This review was a "Telephone Submission". Often after work is completed we conduct a telephone survey to ensure complete satisfaction with the work we did. With permission, Comments from these calls are transcribed and displayed on our website.

On 3/30/12, I heard a bang as my wife was leaving for work. A few hours later I tried to open our garage door and quickly learned that a torsion spring had broken as the garage door closed. The door is VERY heavy (16' wood door from 1960), and I couldn't open it by myself...which meant my car was stuck in the garage. I called PDS and they had someone out a few hours later. Stephen assessed the door and gave me some options. Unfortunately, the door system was very old and would require some updating to modern hardware, so the price was about double what I expected. Regardless, I elected to have the repair done. Stephen was clean, polite and friendly. He spent several hours replacing the springs and retrofitting modern hardware--he even installed new door rollers. He finished up by re-adjusting the opener and giving me a tutorial on maintaining the new hardware; he even gave me a large can of lubricant and showed me where to apply it. The work carries a 5yr warranty. As a former master mechanic, I briefly considered making the repair myself, but quickly realized that those springs carry a great deal of potential energy. As a pain management nurse, I am all too familiar with injuries secondary to DIY mechanical repair...therefore, anyone requiring garage door repair should consult with a pro. The repairs may appear simple, but, as in my case, a pro will realize that the repair is much more complex than it appears...as well as inherently dangerous. I am an avid DIY guy, but recognize my limits. Pay a bit more, let the pros handle it, and have peace of mind. I definitely recommend PDS. From start to finish, they were friendly, quick and professional.

I just wanted to share that Tim did a great job with our door. We are very satisfied with the door installation, the training he gave on the door/key pad/sensors/etc. He seemed very knowledgeable and was able to answer every question we had. I will say it appeared that this job should have been more than one person (due to the size of the door) but he did an excellent job alone. lastly we want to thank Paula for getting an appointment right away after the hiccup we had on the scheduling in the prior week. Thanks team!!

Our Garage Door Spring broke. Brian arrived rapidly and quickly put the door back in order, replacing the single spring with two, as well as installing new rollers. I was completely satisfied with Brian's professionalism and the quality of the repair! The cost of the repair was unexpected. I approved it because I wanted the door repaired. The 4 star (vs 5 star) rating reflects my inability to offer an unreserved recommendation because of the cost.
